Well, I have been debating and debating about this whole movie idea, and the more I think about it, the less time I have...I mean, IF there were more time to script, storyboard, and plan out the movie, I would be much more comfortable with this assignment. Also, without clear delineations about content, material, etc., I'm uncertain if my idea (I've had it for about 14 hours, so I think it's a keeper...) will hold merit.
Here's my idea: Has ANYONE ever been to Newark Valley, NY? With my video, you will be able to feel like you're actually there! That's it! Just enough to make you wonder...

I agree that it's going to be really hard to make and edit a movie in two weeks...if the podcast assignment took less time, an extra week for this would be much appreciated. But...we're all working under the same constraints, so I'm sure we'll all come up with something at least halfway decent.
Now, for my hair and makeup before the shoot...
Hi Dawn, it's worth spending some time looking at the movies Alex and I suggested the class "sample" on Current TV...these examples are clear delineations of the assignment.
It's up to you to decide on content, material, and "merit." What more delineation of the assignment would be helpful?
It's really an assignment that spans 3 wks--which is theoretically enough time to develop, shoot and edit a first draft of a short film. The operative word here is "draft." The focus of the assignment is to experiment with the iMovie program. Content is not unimportant but it is not as important.
I'm looking forward to seeing what it is about Newark Valley that will engage us all. You've got me curious. K
Dawn, I think this is a great topic! I've been to Newark Valley several times throughout my childhood to attend the Apple Fest with my family. I'm looking forward to seeing which aspects of your town are captured in your video. And I agree with you as far as the complications are concerned.
